The goal of any business contract is to provide stability and guardrails for two parties to focus on a common purpose, via a set of "fixed" agreements for a prescribed term.

Agile principles "welcome changing requirements" even late in the process.

In this light ("changing" vs. "fixed"), the agile and contracting mindsets appear to be adversarial.

Many agile coaches and practitioners have been on the receiving end of contracts that have restricted overall Agile adoption.

Yet, there is actually an innovative solution to structure contracts in a way that can preserve the agile mindset, but it involves overcoming the root causes of distrust that result in restrictive contracts....
