Description:

One of the biggest hurdles in applying Agile / DevOps principles to embedded systems is the lack of tools available for automating builds, tests, and deployments in the embedded systems arena. Coveros recently worked with a major medical device company to transition their software process to agile and developed an automated continuous integration / continuous delivery process to support frequent build, test, and deployments. A combination of open source tools (Jenkins, Selenium, Chef, etc.), commercial products (QNX development/test products), and custom shell / expect scripts were leveraged in the solution. This lighting talk will focus on describing the challenges associated with implementing a CI/CD pipeline for embedded software and describe our solution.
