Description:

Rituals are a universal feature of human social structures. From the celebration of national holidays to the way we proceed through our morning routines, ritual is a glue that reminds people that "I" am (or am not) a part of a certain "they". Micro-rituals are those little, every-day things people in groups do to reestablish connection and cement unwritten social rules. Beyond the ceremonies of agile, attention to and nurturing of the micro-rituals of a team can mean the difference between cohesion and chaos.

I'll share a couple of examples of micro-rituals of both great and aweful teams I've been a part of, how they came about and some tricks I've learned along the way to influence which ones stuck.
