The following is an abstract for my proposed 5 minute Lightning Talk For Agile Alliance 2016.

The Love Affair Between Complexity and Simplicity in Development.

The relationship between Complexity and Simplicity in application development is a delicate balance. There is a rhythm of euphoria and heartache that emerges over the various ups and downs of iterative discovery, development, and delivery. Within a circle of trust and cooperation Complexity and Simplicity dance together in a rhythm that yields application goodness. In this harmony all those involved feel and know that they belong. When this fluid balance becomes unaligned goodness dissipates and discord emerges. Join me for a reflection on the love affair of these star-crossed lovers woven into the fabric of our agile journeys.

Please note that this is a skeleton draft and the graphics will be refined if it is selected.

This talk is a confluence of many themes and patterns to include:

William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet
Dan Ward’s Simplicity Cycle
Simon Sinek’s start with why
John Boyd’s Theory on Destruction and Creation
Eric Ries’s Lean Startup

About me:

Thanks for taking the time to consider my proposal.

Best regards,
