On May 1 & 2, Agile New England hosted the first Mob Programming Conference, led by Woody Zuill. On May 6, Vistaprint ran the world’s first mob design session. Following the same rules as mob programming, 3 teams of graphic designers, copy writers, marketing partners, and project managers on 2 continents designed and approved 4 “storyboards” for animated online banner ads in 2 hours, a process that normally takes more than a week. Not only did the process efficiency increase dramatically, there were important intangible gains as well. There was stronger collaboration, increased team learning and more fun than ever before. The participants loved it and want to continue working this way. This lightning talk will show how we did it and the gains we are getting.
